Shenango High School Boys Basketball Partners with GRIT for Enhanced Recovery and Performance Support

October 15, 2024 - New Castle, PA – GRIT Sports Performance (GSP) is excited to announce its latest partnership with the Shenango High School Boys Basketball team. Under the leadership of first-year head coach Bryan Chieze, the Wildcats are taking a bold step forward by integrating professional-grade recovery and performance resources through GSP Labs. GRIT Sports Performance will serve as the team’s "Official Growth, Recovery, and Innovative Training Partner," providing cutting-edge tools to support player welfare and help the team perform at its peak.

As part of this partnership, the Shenango Boys Basketball program will have access to GSP Labs in New Castle, PA, where athletes will benefit from advanced recovery modalities such as whole-body cryotherapy, compression therapy, red light therapy, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. These treatments are designed to reduce recovery time, optimize performance between games and practices, and help ensure players stay healthy and ready for the physical demands of a long basketball season.

“This partnership is a great opportunity for our players to receive major college level care and support,” said Bryan Chieze, head coach of Shenango Boys Basketball. “Being able to offer them the same recovery and performance tools they see their favorite college and pro team utilize is absolutely a game-changer for our program. Our goal is to maximize the potential of each player, and having access to GRIT’s resources will help keep our athletes in peak condition throughout the season.” The partnership with GRIT Sports Performance is more than just about recovery. The Shenango Wildcats will undergo baseline performance testing and analysis, allowing for the tracking of key athletic metrics throughout the season. This data will provide insight into players' strengths and areas for improvement, and guide the coaching staff in tailoring training and conditioning load management to meet the unique needs of each athlete.

Paul Fair, founder of GRIT Sports Performance, shared his thoughts on the new partnership: "This is exciting to support Shenango Boys Basketball and work alongside Coach Chieze in his first year leading the program. Our mission is and will always be to provide athletes with the best resources, solutions, and tools to improve recovery and elevate performance, and we’re excited to help the Wildcats on the court this season."

Coach Cheize’s commitment to innovation and athlete welfare further confirms that he’s the right choice to lead the Wildcats. By providing access to GRIT’s advanced recovery and performance tools, the program is raising the bar for both current and future Wildcats. This collaboration supports the team’s success this season and gives younger athletes something to look forward to, as creating excitement and inspiring youth development will be a major focus under Head Coach Bryan Cheize.
